Manatee County · Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Parrish

Solar installation, solar service and roofing in Manatee County.

Manatee is the southern edge of our service area, and we're honest about that: for a one-hour service call we'll tell you whether the drive makes sense before we book it. For a solar installation, a roof with solar, or a Tesla or battery job, it does. Fused brings the electrical, roofing and building licenses to Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Parrish and Palmetto under one contract.

  • Solar installation and battery backup with FPL or PRECO interconnection
  • Solar detach and reinstall for a new roof, both permits pulled by us
  • Manatee County's Solar Roof Attachment Affidavit handled as part of the job
  • Island work in Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach with flood-zone review up front

Local knowledge

What is different about working in Manatee

Manatee County has a dedicated Solar Permit and a requirement most counties don't: a notarized Solar Roof Attachment Affidavit, signed by the contractor or engineer, uploaded before the final inspection. Miss it and the final doesn't get scheduled. The county also has two utilities with very different export rules, and the island cities each run their own building department entirely inside a flood zone.

Permit officesManatee County Development Services, Building Division (9000 Town Center Pkwy, Lakewood Ranch) through Accela for Lakewood Ranch, Parrish, Ellenton, Myakka City and the unincorporated county. Bradenton, Palmetto, Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, Bradenton Beach and Longboat Key each have their own department.
Solar permitCounty issues a dedicated Solar Permit. The Solar Roof Attachment Affidavit (notarized, by the contractor or engineer) must be uploaded before the final inspection. Palmetto has its own Solar Panels submittal sheet requiring signed-and-sealed engineered plans and yearly city contractor registration. Longboat Key issues a Solar System permit.
Roof permitSeparate Roof Express permit with sheathing, dry-in and flashing, in-progress and final inspection codes, plus a nailing sheathing affidavit. With solar on the roof, the detach and reinstall is its own Solar Permit alongside it.
UtilitiesFPL serves most of Manatee. Tier 1 (10 kW AC and under) requires online pre-approval before installation, then the signed-off permit uploaded after inspection; FPL orders the net meter and issues permission to operate. PRECO serves the east, including parts of Lakewood Ranch, requires approval before install, does its own inspection and meter set, and pays exported power at avoided cost rather than retail. That changes the economics, so we model it before you sign.
Flood and islandsFloodplain Management reviews every permit. Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach sit entirely in flood zones; substantial improvement is a cumulative 50 percent of pre-improvement market value within one year. Longboat Key designs to a 150 mph wind load. We raise all of this at the quote.
Notice of Commencement$5,000 threshold, recorded before the first inspection.
Contractor registrationOptional with the county for state-certified contractors like Fused; required yearly in Palmetto and in Accela for Longboat Key. We keep both current.

Permit and utility details are drawn from each office's published requirements and change without notice; we confirm the current process for your address when we quote.

Why one license matters

When the roof leaks under the array, there's one number to call

In Florida, solar work needs an electrical or solar license and roof work needs a roofing license. Almost nobody holds both. Fused does, so when we replace a roof and reinstall the panels in Manatee County, the roofing warranty and the 25-year no-leak guarantee on the attachments come from the same company. No roofer blaming the solar company, no solar company blaming the roofer.

Questions from Manatee homeowners

Manatee County solar and roofing, answered plainly

Do you cover Lakewood Ranch and Bradenton?

Yes. Manatee County is the southern edge of our service area, and we work in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Parrish and Palmetto regularly for solar installation, battery backup, roof replacement and solar detach and reinstall. For a small service call we'll tell you up front whether the drive makes sense.

What is the Manatee County Solar Roof Attachment Affidavit?

A notarized form, signed by the contractor or engineer, certifying how the solar array is attached to the roof structure. Manatee County requires it uploaded before the final inspection on a solar permit. Fused prepares and files it as part of every Manatee installation and reinstall.

Is my utility FPL or PRECO, and does it matter?

FPL serves most of Manatee County; Peace River Electric (PRECO) serves the east, including parts of Lakewood Ranch. It matters: FPL credits exported power at the retail rate under net metering, while PRECO pays avoided cost, which is lower. Fused confirms your utility from the address and models your savings on the right rate before you sign.

Can you replace a roof with solar on it in Manatee County?

Yes. Fused holds roofing license CCC1331058 and electrical license EC13014750, so the roof replacement and the solar detach and reinstall are one contract with Fused pulling both the Roof Express permit and the Solar Permit. Every reinstall gets new flashed attachments and a 25-year no-leak guarantee.

Do you install solar on Anna Maria Island or Longboat Key?

Yes, with the island rules handled up front: each island city runs its own building department, every parcel is in a flood zone, and Longboat Key designs to a 150 mph wind load. We address flood-zone review and the substantial-improvement rule at the quote stage so permitting doesn't stall.
