Solar detach and reinstall, solar service and roofing in St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg has some of the oldest housing stock in Tampa Bay and a decade of solar on it, which means roofs reaching the end of their life with panels already attached. Fused does the detach and reinstall, replaces the roof if you want us to, services every solar brand, and installs new solar and batteries, from Old Northeast to Pinellas Point.
Part of our Pinellas County service area.

New flashed attachments on a reinstall. Every reinstall gets new attachments and a 25-year no-leak guarantee.

Who issues the permit, and who pulls it
The City of St. Petersburg Construction Services (One 4th St N) handles permits through Click2Gov and ePlan review. Solar has its own Solar Permit Submittal Checklist: sealed attachment, flashing and structural details for the wind zone, equipment spec sheets and the roof layout, and the permit must be pulled by a licensed EC or CV contractor. ePlan comments must be answered within 10 days or the application is denied. Roof replacement is a separate roof permit. Fused holds EC13014750 and pulls both.
Duke Energy Florida serves all of Pinellas. Systems of 10 kW AC and under use Duke's Tier 1 interconnection with no application fee; the net meter is set after the local inspection passes. We file and track it.
What is specific to St. Petersburg
| Flood zones | Shore Acres, Snell Isle, Coquina Key and the bayfront sit in flood zones where a roof plus solar can trigger the FEMA substantial-improvement rule. We check the parcel before quoting. |
|---|---|
| Historic districts | Old Northeast, Kenwood and Historic Uptown have design review for exterior changes. We confirm whether solar needs a certificate before designing the array. |
| Salt air | Bayfront and Gulf-side homes see faster corrosion on racking and attachments. On a reinstall we replace attachments rather than reuse them, and we use stainless hardware where the exposure calls for it. |
| Duke Energy | St. Petersburg is Duke territory. Tier 1 interconnection, no application fee, net meter set after the city inspection passes. |

In Florida, solar work needs an electrical or solar license and roof work needs a roofing license. Almost nobody holds both. Fused does, so when we replace a roof and reinstall the panels in St. Petersburg, the roofing warranty and the 25-year no-leak guarantee on the attachments come from the same company.

St. Petersburg solar and roofing, answered plainly
My St. Petersburg roofer won't touch my solar panels. What do I do?
Most roofers aren't licensed to disconnect a PV system. Fused does the detach and reinstall for your roofer: panels off before the roofer arrives, back on with new flashed attachments and a 25-year no-leak guarantee when they leave. We coordinate with their office and never quote a roof to a roofer's customer.
Do I need two permits to replace a roof with solar in St. Petersburg?
Yes. The roof replacement and the solar detach and reinstall are separate permits with separate inspections at the City of St. Petersburg. Fused pulls both under its roofing license CCC1331058 and electrical license EC13014750.
Can you install solar on a home in Shore Acres or Snell Isle?
Yes. Those neighborhoods are in flood zones, so a larger project can trigger the FEMA 50 percent rule. We check the parcel and raise it at the quote so permitting doesn't stall.
Do you repair solar in St. Petersburg if my installer is out of business?
Yes. Fused services any brand and any installer's system across St. Petersburg. $395 on-site diagnostic with a written report, repair quoted after.
